Day 12

Day 13 | May 24 On the last day of senior project Trey, Botti, and I worked from 10-1 in the admissions office with Alicia creating our flyer that we are going to be presenting at express fest. It was very difficult to make at first and try to pair with other admissions flyers that they have set up at their tables for fairs but we were able to make it work.  Day 12 hours: 3 Total Hours: 55

Day 13

Today for senior project we got up early and headed to assembly to announce that the new green key leaders were going to be released bg email. After that we headed over to admissions from 11-1 working with Alicia on potential display items for our table at express fest. While we were at admissions we sent out the email announcing the green key leaders. Alicia, Botti, Trey, and myself decided that we wanted to make a small flyer with useful information about Proctor that the admissons team could use at fairs if they turn out good enough.  Hours: 5 Total: 52 hours

Week 2

Week 2 Reflection We had a very successful second week of senior project. after we altered our project and started working with Alicia, we grinded and got a lot done. Alicia has been a beneficial mentor and she has been super flexible with finding time to work with us and giving us things to do when she is not around. We have given a lot of tours and met with some tremendous families that are excited about coming to Proctor next year. Our project has been an enjoyable experience and also a learning process. we have been able to get a behind the scenes look at how an admissions office operates. Alicia has been great to us and has done a tremendous job catering to our skills within admissions and has only given us tasks that ...

Day 11

Today Alicia was kind enough to take myself, Nora, Trey, and Botti out to Tuckers this morning. We discussed our plans for the day over the breakfast and then headed back to campus. We decided that we needed to choose the green key leaders for next year. So right when we got back me, trey, and botti, headed over to Alicias office to help with choosing leaders for green key next year. We will annoucne them in assembly on Monday. After that we talked about the possibilities of making a sign that goes up at prep school fairs. We thought we were very productive this day.  Day 11 hrs: 5 Total: 47

Day 10

Day 10 | May 19 Yesterday we woke up early at 8am and we strolled over to the dining hall and began to dominate the day. After breakfast we went to the gym and got a quick pump in. After that we went back to the dorm and got ready for the day and headed over to admissons because Alicia had a tall order of tasks for us today. We began looking at a neurophysiological evaluation, and we also looked at what Proctor looks at when evaluating applicants. We were able to see the differences between Proctor and other schools and how personable Proctor gets with all of their applicants and students. We hung out at admissons from 9:30-12:30. We then went out and gave 2 group tours which was from 1-3. The kids we toured were some interesting characters and they really loved Proctor’s campus and are excited for the upcoming year.  Day 10 hours: 5 Project total: 42

Day 9

Day 9 | May 18 Yesterday we were able to sleep in a little bit because our first tour of the day wasn’t until 10:00. We woke up, showered, and ate, and then headed to admissons to meet our tour. The tour was one of our bests yet and it was to a student who was already committed to Proctor for next year but just hadn’t seen campus yet. We finished at 10:30/11 and then hung around at admissons and started creating brochures and organizing folders for them to give to students coming for tours. After we got back from our games we had a little extra time to brainstorm and run possible ideas past Alicia for the green key end of the year party. Our day turned out to be pretty productive even with a little bit of a sleep in. Day 9 hours: 4 Total hours: 36

Day 8

Yesterday, Trey, Botti, and I made it a priority to eat a good hearty meal in the morning, so we got ourselves out of bed early and headed to breakfast. After breakfast, we decided that we wanted to continue to dominate the day and get a nice workout in. Around 10 we headed over to Alicia's and we worked on incoming student outreaches with her until 12. We developed a response form that we are now going to send out to incoming students in an attempt to have the new student introduce themselves and become a little familiar with the Proctor community. After that, we grabbed a quick lunch and then headed back over to the admissions office and gave a tour and then also started planning the end of the year green key party. Day 8 hours: 5 Total hours: 32

Day 7

Today me and the boys headed over to admissions at 9 for a 9:30 tour with a student still decided his decision for next year. We started off with the tour at assembly and then worked our way around campus and it turned out to be one of our better tours. It was a little bit of an awkward tour because the kid was much younger and didn't have the greatest social skills, and the mother had a little bit of a weird attitude about the tour. The tour ended at around 10:30 and then we stayed for a few extra questions and then helped out in the admissions office until 11:30. We spent the afternoon taking care of some things for alicia that she left us to do while she is out of town. We did that from 12-3 and that finished up our day. Day 7 hours: 5 Total hours: 27

Week 1 reflection

               Senior Project Week One Reflection

Day 6

last night we got a text from Alicia that we needed to give a tour to a french Canadian hockey team from quebec. We woke up at 8:20 and rolled out over to admissions by 8:30. We gave a great tour for an hour while having trouble understanding what they were saying because English was not a strong point. by 10:30 we wrapped up the tour with a little q and a and then we rolled to jakes to get some breakfast sangos. We went back to prep for the Instagram page and by 12:30 we wrapped up work for the day and I went to the golf course.  Hours: 4 hours total: 22 hours

Day 5

We started day 5 with a meeting with Alicia at 930, and we talked about potential opportunities for us and tasks to take care of. We talked about putting folders together, making brochures and running an Instagram account for new students to make friends. At around 1230 we left admissions and then went to jakes and grabbed a quick bite to eat. from 1:30 to 3 we gave a tour to an incoming student from New York City.  Day 4 hours: 5 Proj total: 18

Day 4

On day 4 of senior project we all decided that we didn't think that we were going to be able to reach out hours that are required for the project. We learned that our hours were starting to not work out the way we originally planned. We went back to the drawing board and discussed with Alicia about a potential project switch and becoming admissions office interns. We then set out a plan for the remainder of senior project and are very excited to be working with admissions by running tours, running social media accounts, and designing merchandise to be given out for tours.  Hours for Day 4: 2 Proj total: 13

Day 3

On the third day of senior project Aidan and I went to breakfast to kickstart our day the right way. After breakfast we went to the weight room and got a quick lift in before heading back to the dorm for our one hour brainstorming session from 11-12. After we brainstormed for an hour we finally had a good idea that we could make work, a mini golf course. We went over to Trish to try and get some supplies but she suggested we talk to maintenance first about a location. We went over the maintenance office to discuss the potential possibilities of cutting the grass to a certain length so that we could make the putting surface work. We are still in talks with them about the situation.  Total hours: 2 Proj total: 11

Day 2

On day 2 of senior project Aidan and I made it a priority to get a good meal in to start the day off by going to breakfast at 8. We then decided to get a quick lift in and then head back to the dorm to start our work day off. By 9:30 Trey, Aidan, and I had our daily meeting outside of Rulon in the Adirondack chairs and brainstormed ideas until 11. During our brainstorming session, we decided that in order to coordinate events better with the community and stay organized, we began constructing a website that includes spreadsheets, google forms, and other information to keep the community in the loop. From 12:00- 2:30 we made significant progress on the website and will continue to polish it tomorrow.  Day 1 hours: 5 Day 2 total hours: 4 Project total: 9

Senior Project Day 1                     Today was the first day of senior project. Trey, Aidan, and I all slept in until 9am and planned to meet outside of Rulon, to enjoy the beautiful weather on the adirondack chairs. By 10:00 we started to plan out all of our future events we want to put on for the student body. We had decided that we wanted to put on a bonfire for everyone prior to study hall and into senior study hall for seniors. We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed the fire and a few smores for a couple hours. The black flys inspired us to put on a fire to keep them ...
